Great intentions, but design effort missing Oct 16, 2010

Skins/Decals for electronics - there are SO MANY choices! In digging through countless retailers sites (& reviews) for the perfect skin for my iPhone 3G, macBook Pro, and iPad, I soon began to realize that because of a device's particular size and/or cut-out requirements, some of the most strikingly beautiful skins do not translate well. With that in mind, I finally narrowed it down to a dozen or two possibilities, and chose this one for my iPhone because of my interest in fractals. In spite of these efforts, it wasn't as attractive as I had hoped because of a)the small size/translate problem mentioned before, and b)it doesn't cover the sides! (The pictures didn't show that and it wasn't mentioned in the literature.) My phone is white, and I bought a new clear case so the beauty of the skin would show through. Unfortunately, so do all four of the blindingly white sides! Well, this totally destroys the effect I was looking for - it's kinda like my phone's underwear is showing. Except for that, the skin was well made and easy to apply (after I figured out it's not supposed to cover everything!). Too late I read a review mentioning this problem with Decalgirl skins, and that some other brands cover more of the phone. So now it's on to the Quest for the Perfect iPhone Skin, Round Two.
